1. True. According to the 2018 edition of “Discover Montgomery County” published by Womack Publishing (publishers of the Montgomery Herald), Tinsdale, Blakely, Henderson, Stokes and Lawrenceville were all Montgomery County seats prior to Troy!

2. False. Also according to “Discover Montgomery County,” Tinsdale was the county seat for only a short time as it was wiped out by a typhoid fever outbreak, not bubonic plague.

3. True, according to the “Experience the Uwharries” brochure published by the Montgomery County Tourism Authority.
