We here at CR Drug (Cochrane Ridenhour Drug) are committed to helping you navigate through this coronavirus epidemic. We will stay open during this problem and work long hours if necessary. We are fully stocked and expecting no shortages at this time. We can fill 90-day supplies if your doctor and insurance are willing. In fact, most insurance companies are refilling 90-day supplies to navigate through this crisis. Do not panic. We will help you in any way we can.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends everyone practice “social distancing” and anyone older than 65 stay home. Coronavirus seems to severely affect people who are immunocompromised and with diminished lung function. Our advice to people who are on breathing meds, COPD meds, or anyone who doesn’t feel safe going out, is stay home. We will be glad to bring/deliver to your home, business or even parking lots.

Also, to help our community, we will volunteer to help bring anything to people in need. We will contribute to the Food Pantry or donate to anyone in need. Please do not hesitate to contact us (910) 439-6541.

And please note, to minimize risk we are constantly cleaning our work space and surfaces. (Here’s some disinfecting recommendations from the CDC.)

Our understanding of this virus is rapidly evolving. Right now, according to the CDC, the virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person; between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet); through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes; and these droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

Also from the CDC, the following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure: fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face.

The difference between allergy-related symptoms and infection seems to be fever. According to the French Health Ministry, Tylenol seems to work better for fever if you get coronavirus; avoid Ibuprofen.

Finally, here are some tips from the CDC on how to protect yourself.
